Osama bin Laden Dead: U.S. Success or Failure

Osama bin Ladin is dead, or as President Obama put it, bin Laden has "been brought to justice."  The U.S. has been hunting for Osama bin Laden since 1998 when President Clinton issued the order to kill or capture the mastermind terrorist head of al Quaida who has been hiding out in Pakistan.  President Obama even made Osama bin Laden the number one priority in the U.S.'s fight against al Qaida.

Are the thirteen years (almost 10 since the 9/11 attack) it took to bring Osama bin Laden to justice a triumph or a failure of U.S. intelligence, diplomacy, and military action?

Bill Maher's Religulous Academy Award Prospects

The title of Bill Maher's satirical documentary, Religulous, is derived by combining the words "religious" and "ridiculous."

Is it a ridiculous thought that Religulous will be nominated for an Academy Award?  Apparently not according to almost 40% or respondents to a public opinion poll conducted on the Vizu Answers research network prior to the film hitting theaters.

Brigitte Bardot's Conviction Wrong

Brigitte Bardot was convicted last month in France for provoking discrimination and racial hatred by writing that Muslims are destroying France.

Apparently the French courts saw something that most other people did not see in Bardot's remarks.  According to recent public opinion research on the Vizu Answers network, about three times as many people thought that the former pin-up girl should not even have been prosecuted.

Visual inspection of the vote map does, however, suggest that a slightly greater percentage of the European population my have agreed that prosecuting Bardot was just.

Will Smith Spurn Scientology? - Yes? No?

Questions have been swirling about whether Will Smith will become a Scientologist. 

Back in December, Shaun Robinson of Access Hollywood asked Smith the loaded question, “What about Scientology do you embrace?”

“I was introduced, [to] it by Tom and I’m a student of world religion,” Smith said. “I was raised in a Baptist household, I went to a Catholic school, but the ideas of the Bible are 98 percent the same ideas of Scientology, 98 percent the same ideas of Hinduism and Buddhism.”

Will even admitted in Men's Vogue that he agrees with the basic tenets of Scientology.

Still, in a poll completed about a month ago on the Vizu Answers research network, 60% of respondents did not think that Will Smith would become a Scientologist.  However, since then new information has come out that Will and his wife are plowing over $1 million into a school with ties to Scientology.  Maybe those basic tenets are starting to sink in.

Suri Cruise to call L. Ron Hubbard Daddy

Wouldn't it be great if the rumors that Tom's wife, Katie Holmes Cruise, was impregnated with sperm from L. Ron Hubbard and that little Suri Cruise was the result?  Suri would become the daughter of Scientology and Tom would finally have a chance to recapture the crown of craziest person in Hollywood from Britney Spears - at least for a day or two.

Alas, most people say it ain't so.

Conan O'Brien's Stalker, Rev. David Ajemian, Headed to Jail

Reverend David Ajemian was arrested in early November while attempting to enter a taping of Late Night with Conan O'Brien.  Rev. Ajemian has referred to himself as "your priest stalker" in a note to Mr. O'Brien.

Despite having been treated for psychological problems over the last year, Father David Ajemian, was found fit to stand trial for stalking Conan O'brien after being examined by a court appointed psychologist.  That's too bad for Rev. Ajemian.  According to a recent public opinion poll on Vizu's network of entertainment oriented websites, 60% of respondents think Rev. Ajemian will go to jail for his alleged stalking which is documented in notes and has played out over a couple of years.

Gabriel Aubry & Halle Berry's Relationship None of Your Business

Halle Berry is pregnant with Gabriel Aubry's baby, but the couple is not married.  Whether they should be married is also none of your business according to a recent public opinion survey conducted on Vizu's network of entertainment related websites.

70% of the respondents to the poll said that whether Halle Berry should marry Gabriel Aubry is none of their business.  Of the remaining 30% of the polls respondents, 2/3 said that Halle and Aubry should get married.
