Padma Lakshmi is a hot, tart talent if there ever was one. Not too many celebrities can claim to be as multi-talented as Padma, who, were it not for her recently announced divorce from Sir Salman Rushdie, would probably be best known in America as one of the hosts of the Top Chef, the reality TV show.
Padma Lakshmi's many talents and accomplishments include being a model, film actress, TV co-host, and an acclaimed writer.
Padma began her rise to fame as the first internationally acclaimed Indian supermodel after being discovered in cafe in Spain where she was an exchange student with Clark University at the time. Padma has appeared in films in the US, Italy and India, but seems to be working mostly on TV these days.
Padma's past work on TV includes hosting Italy's top rated TV show, Dominica In, as well as repeated work for the Food Network. More recently she has starred in a couple of mini-series for ABC and the BBC and is currently hosting the third season of Bravo's Top Chef series.
Amazingly enough, particularly in light of Ms. Lakshmi's quite slender physique, Padma is also an accomplished writer having contributed to Vogue, Harper's Bazaar & Gourmet. Padma's first cookbook, Easy Ethnic, features low-cal, low-fat recipes from around the world. Her next cookbook, Tangy, Tart, Sweet, & Hot, is due out in October of 2007 and brings us to the some early results in an opinion poll conducted on the entertainment websites in the Vizu Answers research network.
With 141 votes in so far, the poll results show that the 36 year old Padma Lakshmi is a hot tart with tangy undertones and just a touch of sweetness.
