Dr. Phil Used Britney Spears

Oprah's protege,  Dr. Phil, supposedly tried to help imploding pop star Britney Spears last month.  But was Dr. Phil really trying to help Britney or was he using her for a little extra public exposure, a field in which Britney still excels?

An overwhelming majority of respondents feel that Dr. Phil was, in fact, using Britney Spears as opposed to earnestly trying to help her according to research recently conducted on Vizu's network of entertainment oriented websites.

Now that Britney's father has been appointed as her guardian, we'll see if he can help her more than Dr. Phil did.

Oprah's Main Man: Stedman vs. Barack Obama

Stedman Graham has been Oprah Winfrey's boyfriend for over 20 years, but Oprah seems to have a new, handsome man in her life these days - one Senator Barack Obama.

These days Oprah can regularly be seen traveling with Barack Obama on the campaign trail and extolling his virtues every chance she gets.  One might imagine that that could create some friction on the home front.

The majority of people think the Barack will not ruin Oprah and Stedman's relationship.  But almost 40% of respondents to a research poll conducted on Vizu's network of entertainment oriented websites, think that Oprah's relationship with Barack Obama will ultimately ruin her relationship with Stedman.

Of course, if Oprah is not a one man woman, it should be noted that Barack is not a one woman man.  Besides having Oprah and his wife at his side on the campaign trail, Barack has also been spending a lot of time with Scarlett Johansson recently as well.  Beauties Kate Walsh and Jessica Biel have also professed their devotion to Senator Obama.

 

Oprah Winfrey Tarnishes Image for Barack Obama

Oprah's favorite thing these days is Barack Obama.  Until Barack Obama came along, Oprah Winfrey had never put her sterling reputation on the line by endorsing a candidate for President and it is costing her.

According to research by Fox News, Oprah's favorability rating has dropped by 13 points or 19% over the last three months.  Fox's findings are corroborated by recent public opinion research conducted on Vizu's network of entertainment oriented websites that shows that 18% more respondents think that Oprah's endorsement of Barack Obama harms her image than think it helps her image.

Apparently it is one thing to endorse books, and another thing to endorse political figures.

Barack Obama's Best Celebrity Buddy - It Ain't Oprah

Barack Obama is well known for schmoozing Hollywood celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Walsh, Taye Diggs, Jessica Biel, and Ryan Reynolds in the hopes that some of their star power rubs off on him.

But when it comes to Barack's best celebrity buddy, it depends how you define "best."  Barack and Oprah tour together and by many accounts Oprah, with her mega-watt star power, seems to be Mr. Obama's best celebrity buddy.  But if you ask the public who their favorite Obama celebrity buddy is, the answer comes back loud and clear as the beautiful Scarlett Johansson.

In a recent public opinion poll conducted on Vizu's network of entertainment oriented websites, almost 50% more people selected Ms. Johansson as their favorite Barack Obama celebrity pal.

Move over, Oprah.  Scarlett may be coming to Obama-town.

Oprah's Favorite Things - Best Health & Beauty Aid Gift

This year's list of Oprah's favorite things included a handful of health and beauty aids: the Clarisonic Skin Care System, Kai Body Butter and Body Buffer, and Claus Porto Soaps from Lafco in New York.

If your wife or girlfriend is an Oprah fan, but you are not sure which of Oprah's Favorite Health and Beauty Things to get her, the answer is probably the Clarisonic Skin Care System.

In recent public opinion research conducted on Vizu's network of entertainment oriented websites, almost half of the respondents picked the Clarisonic System as the gift they would most like to receive.  Kai Body Butter and Body Buffer edged out the Claus Porto soaps for second place in the best gift poll.

Oprah's favorite things list came out just in time for holiday shopping.  Among the products on the list were a handful of entertainment items:  Josh Groban's Noel CD, O's Guide to Life, The Pillars of Earth by Ken Follett, and United Artists 90th Anniversary Prestige Collection of DVDs.

If you are wondering which item makes the best gift, it's the United Artists 90th Anniversary Prestige Collection according to a recent public opinion poll conducted on Vizu's network of entertainment oriented websites.  Of course, that was also the most expensive gift on the list in the study.  If you want to maximize your bang for the buck, go with Josh Groban's Noel CD.

Oprah's Favorite Things - Most Fashionable Items

Oprah's fabled favorite things included several fashion items this year.  This year's list included a Rachel Pally swing turtleneck and sailor pants ensemble, watches from ToyWatch, and Ugg Australian Classic Crochet Tall Boots.

If you are wondering which item is most fashionable, it's a tough call between the ToyWatch watches and the Ugg crochet tall boots.

In a market research study conducted on Vizu's network of entertainment oriented websites, the Ugg boots came out on top with 47% of the votes for most fashionable item.  But the ToyWatch watches were not too far behind with 44% of the vote.

Oprah's Favorite Things - Best Kitchen Gift

Among Oprah's Favorite Things this year were a handful of kitchen gadgets.  The list included Melamine bowls, measuring cups and spoons from Williams-Sonoma, the Artisan Stand Mixer from KitchenAid, and a Breville Ikon Panini Press from Williams-Sonoma.

Vizu recently conducted a public opinion poll on its networks of entertainment and food oriented websites to determine which of Oprah's Favorite Kitchen Gadget Things makes the best holiday gift.  It turns out that the Artisan Stand Mixer from KitchenAid and the Breville Panini Press were tied in terms of making the best gift.

The research did not include the LG HDTV Refrigerator which was the most expensive thing on Oprah's list this year.

Oprah's Favorite Things - Best Food Gift

Among Oprah's Favorite Things this year were two food items: Ciao Bella Blood Orange sorbetto and Perfect Endings cupcakes from Williams-Sonoma.

If you are wondering which one you should buy for you foodie friend this Christmas, the answer probably is the Perfect Endings cupcakes.

In a recent public opinion poll conducted on Vizu's research network of entertainment and food oriented sites, 62% of poll respondents choose the cupcakes over Ciao Bella's Blood Orange sorbetto as the gift that they would most like to receive.

Letterman Bests Oprah

David Letterman is a better talk show host than Oprah Winfrey.  In a battle of titans, a recent public opinion poll just completed on Vizu's network of entertainment oriented websites revealed that 55% of almost 300 respondents said that Letterman is a better talk show host than Winfrey.

After years of feuding, reconciliation between Letterman and Oprah, who was frequently the butt of Letterman's jokes, begain in 2005 with Oprah appearing on the Late Show.  On that appearance, Oprah said, "I want you to know, it's really over, whatever you thought was happening."

Letterman is now set to tape an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show on Monday in Madison Square Garden.  Finally the world will finally get to see how the King of Late Night behaves in The Queen of Daytime's house.

In an interesting side note, a visual inspection of the vote chart above would seem to suggest that Letterman seems to have a more loyal following west of the Mississippi.  That is a bit ironic given that his show is so closely connected with New York City.
