Jessica Seinfled, Jerry's wife, and Padma Lakshmi, Salman Rushdie's recent ex-wife, recently released cookbooks.
Jessica's cookbook, Deceptively Delicious, bills itself as "simple secrets to get your kids eating good food." Padma Lakshmi's cookbook, Tangy, Tart, Hot & Sweet, is described as a world of recipes for every day. But the real question is what do the titles of these cookbooks say about their respective authors.
Given the plagiarism charges leveled against Jessica Seinfeld for her cookbook, the title Deceptively Delicious might to ring a little too close to home. On the other hand, a quick search of the internet for pictures of Padma Lakshmi who is also a model and TV personality and one will quickly realize that she could easily be described as tangy, tart, hot, & sweet.
Were these women trying to tell us something? Perhaps.
In a recent public opinion poll conducted on Vizu's networks of food and entertainment websites, people seemed to think that "tangy, tart, hot, & sweet" described Padma Lakshmi a little better than "deceptively delicious" described Jessica Seinfeld.
