Speaking with E! News on the carpet at the Golden Globes, Halle Berry dismissed the buzz that she would play Aretha Franklin in an retrospective of the the Queen of Soul.
Indicating her RESPECT for Aretha, Halle said, "If I could carry a tune, I'd consider it. Someone should tell Aretha that I can't do her justice."
With Beyonce Knowles probably out of the running due to her mention of Tina Turner as the "Queen," Halle Berry has been asked to play Aretha Franklin in a biopic about the Queen of Soul. (Beyonce has already played Etta James.)
Aretha is happy about the casting decision and has said that Halle was her first choice. Maybe Halle should take some singing lessons from Jamie Fox who nailed his peformance of another vocal legend, Ray Charles, in the 2004 movie Ray.
