Lindsay Lohan Voted Least Safe Driver

Lindsay Lohan was voted the least safe driver among her cohort of hard partying Hollywood minxes: Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Britney Spears.

First let's briefly review the contestants' credentials in this fierce competition:

Paris Hilton (Arrested for DUI, Imprisoned for Driving on a Suspended License):
In 2006 Paris was pulled over by the LAPD for driving suspiciously and blew a .08% blood alcohol level in a breathalyser test - the state minimum for DUI.  Paris The Heiress eventually copped a plea for a reduced sentence of alcohol related reckless driving.

Then Paris served 21 days in jail for violating at least three terms of her probation according to FindLaw:  First, she failed to enroll in an alcohol education course within 21 days of her sentencing.  Second, she had several traffic violations after receiving probation.  Third, she was stopped by L.A. Sheriff Deputies on February 27, 2007 for driving a new Bentley at 70 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone “in darkness without her headlights on,” and without a valid driver’s license.

Nicole Richie (Arrested twice for DUI):
TMZ reported that in 2002, "She blew a .12. and a .13 in two separate tests. In California, .08 is considered legally intoxicated. Richie was stopped in her Toyota Corolla after a UCLA police officer observed her blowing a red light and driving over a speed bump at more than 50 miles an hour in an area with a 15 mph speed limit. Richie flunked the field sobriety test -- her eyes were watery and bloodshot, and she could not keep her balance.

Richie was given three years probation for her 2002 DUI conviction and had her license suspended for one year. Six months later, Richie was arrested for possession of heroin and for driving with a suspended license."

More recently Nicole was sentenced to four days in prison after pleading guilty to her second DUI offense, this time for driving under the influence of marijuana and Vicodin.  In this case the CHP found Nicole parked in a car pool lane.

Britney Spears (Driving with baby on lap and driving with no undies):
In February of 2006, Britney was photographed driving her SUV with her baby son, Sean Preston, on her lap when he should have been in a car seat.  In November of last year, Ms. Spears was photographed with a glass of wine in hand as she walked toward her Porsche after leaving an LA restaurant for dinner.   Britney has also made it a regular practice to step out of automobiles without any undies on which is arguably quite dangerous for the paparazzi as they fight to get those coveted crotch shots.

Lindsay Lohan (Speeding, Running a Light, DUI,  Hit and Run):
Lindsey received her first speeding ticket at age 17 in December of 2003.  According to the Daily Telegraph, since then "She went on to get at least one serious violation a year in the L.A. area: speeding in October 2004, running a red light in November 2005 and speeding last October."

Just before her 21st birthday Lindsay was involved in an alleged DUI and hit and run offense after running her Mercedes in to a tree in Beverly Hills.  Last week Lohan was popped again after leaving a party for drunk driving, cocaine possession, and driving on a suspended license despite wearing a blood alcohol monitoring anklet and time in rehab.

"Three men at the Santa Monica party that Lohan was attending have accused her of commandeering their 4WD, running over the foot of one and driving off with the other two in a wild pursuit," again according to the Daily Telegraph.

 

While each of the boozy starlets have made exceptional cases for themselves, 46% of the respondents in a recent public opinion poll on the Vizu Answers network of entertainment websites said Lindsay Lohan was the least safe driver among the reckless lot.  Notably, Britney Spears commanded almost 30% of the vote despite not having actually been formally convicted of a driving related offense.
