Knocked Up Knocked Down by The 40 Year Old Virgin & Wedding Crashers

Knocked Up, this summer's runaway sex comedy starring Katherine Heigl, is more critically acclaimed than either of 2005's blockbuster sex comedies: The 40 Year Old Virgin and Wedding Crashers.  While all the movies were well received by critics, the composition rating site Rotten Tomatoes gives Knocked Up a 91% tomatometer score versus 83% for The 40 Year Old Virgin and 75% for Wedding Crashers.

A tomatometer score like that is enough to give Knocked Up the fourth spot on Rotten Tomatoes mid-year review which covers all of the movies released so far this year.  However, as we all know, critical acclaim is only one element in box office success.

In an opinion poll recently conducted on the Vizu Answers network of entertainment sites, respondents indicated that they prefer The 40 Year Old Virgin to Wedding Crashers and Knocked Up.

To be fair, Knocked Up is still in theaters and has not had the chance to build up its following on DVD yet.
