Latest Daisey Duke - April Scott Not So Hot

Saying the latest Daisy Duke, April Scott, is not so hot is not really fair.  It is just that at the moment folks don't think she is as hot as her predecessors - Catherine Bach and Jessica Simpson.  Admittedly April has some big boots and tight shorts to fill, but with 5762 votes cast, April Scott was only selected 25% of the time as the hottest Daisy Duke.

Rumor has it that Jessica Simpson backed out of the roll when it was learned that the movie was going to go straight to video.  Though it could also have been partially due to the fact that the next Dukes of Hazard movie, "Dukes of Hazard: The Beginning" is a prequel to that last film and Jessica would have had to play a younger version of herself.

Originally Kristen Cavallari was scheduled for the role, but producer Bill Gerber explained his decision to go with April Scott to PEOPLE by saying, "We decided to go with a Southerner and someone more reminiscent of Catherine Bach."

Of course people might have been voting for known quantities in selecting Catherine Bach and Jessica Simpson over the relatively unknown newcomer, April Scott.  Maybe the tables will turn in April's favor when the promotional photos and sexy trailer for the new movie are released.
