Steve Martin Outshines Alec Baldwin as Academy Awards Host

Hosting the Academy Awards is tough, often thankless duty.  It is so much so, in fact, that this year the Academy has opted for two hosts rather than the usual single host and has managed to attract two of the most talented entertainers in Hollywood: Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.

While Alec Baldwin might be riding a little higher in the saddle than Steve Martin at the moment thanks to 30 Rock, most people expect that funnyman Steve Martin will be the better host.  In fact, according to a recent online survey conducted on Vizu's Power Polls network, almost three times as many think Steve Martin will outperform Alec Baldwin.

Cougar Poster Girl Demi Moore

 “I’m certainly not the first person to be in a relationship with a younger man, but somehow I was plucked out as a bit of a poster girl,” said Demi Moore (47) in the last December's issue of W Magazine.  “I don’t know why that is. But I just kind of step back sometimes and say, ‘There is some reason, and what is it that I have to share in a positive way?”  Maybe it is because her husband, Ashton Kutcher (31) is such a a high profile Hollywood himself.

If it were up to her, Moore said she'd rather be called a puma than a cougar.  Surprisingly about a third of the respondents in a recent online survey conducted on Vizu's Power Polls network agree that Demi Moore, a.k.a. Mrs. Kutcher, is more puma than cougar.  Whatever people call her, most seem to agree that Demi is a fine feline.

Obese Passengers Should Pay for Two Seats on Airplanes

 Various airlines are beginning to charge obese passengers who take up more than one seat of space, to pay for an extra seat.  While passengers of size often object to the the extra fees, public sentiment is on the side of the airlines - at least for now.

According to an online survey conducted on Vizu's Power Polls network, a slight majority of respondents say the airlines are right to charge jumbo passengers more.  After all, most shipping companies routinely charge more for bigger, heavier packages.  In fact, the airlines already charge more for extra heavy luggage and few seem to object to that as unreasonable.

Of course given that over 30% of our society is overweight and that that percentage is climbing, public opinion on this matter could easily continue to go in the direction of our waistlines.

Jeremy Piven's Soy Enhanced Man Boobs

Jeremy Piven's dietary habits seem rather questionable.  After all, he gave himself mercury poisoning by eating fish twice a day for twenty years.  Once he got over the mercury poisoning, he claimed that the 12 cups of soy milk were making his breasts grow due to all the estrogen in the soy milk.

Most people in a recent online survey conducted on Vizu's Power Polls network, however, don't believe that that the soy milk was giving Piven the man boobs.  Then again, the poll did not mention that he was drinking three quarts of soy milk a day.

David Letterman's Late Night Infidelities No Surprise

David Letterman's affair with his staffer, Stephanie Birkitt, has been eclipsed by Tiger Woods phenomenal promiscuity, but despite the hype at the time, Letterman's affair was no real surprise.  According to an online survey on Vizu's Power Poll's network, over 60% of respondents said that David Letterman's affair was no real surprise.

Hollywood's Ultimate Cougar

While sexual cougars prowl all corners of our nation, the cougar subspecies from Hollywood is by far the most famous.  Hollywood's cougars are an active bunch whose range extends around the world with particularly large concentration in New York City.  The most rapacious sexual preditor, however, makes her home in London.

While Hollywood's cougars include some particularly famous ones such as Halle Berry, Mira Sorvino, Susan Sarandon, and Ellen Degeneres, the ultimate cougar that actually lives in or around Hollywood is Demi Moore whose prey most notably includes Ashton Kutcher. 

Even Demi Moore, however, cannot hold a candle to the ultimate cougar, Madonna.  According to a a recent online survey conducted on Vizu's Power Polls network, almost 1/3 of respondents picked Madonna as the ultimate cougar.  Madonna's notable prey has included A-Rod, Sean Penn, John F. Kennedy, Jr., Jose Conseco, Guy Ritchie, Britney Spears and, now, the 22 year old model Jesus Luz.

Naked Celebrities Abusing PETA

The advocacy group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), fights against what it considers animal abuse, often surprising people who would not consider themselves the least bit abusive.  One of PETA's favorite publicity stunts is to enlist celebrities like Pamela Anderson, Eva Mendes and Joanna Krupa to pose naked to drive awareness of PETA's cause.

So are these "do gooder" celebrities really doing good or are they using PETA for their own benefit like an animal PETA might try to defend?  It turns out that most people think those celebrities are using PETA to further their own ends.  In fact, in a recent online survey conducted on Vizu's Power Polls network, more than 3/4 of the respondents said PETA's nude celebrity ads do more for the celebrity than they do for PETA.

Using PETA is probably even more likely among lesser known celebrities like Christian Serratos or Bethenny Frankel who may be all to eager to doff their clothes in order to exploit PETA's surefire PR machine.  Then again, Pamela Anderson, always seems to be ready to do another sexy PETA ad at the drop of a hat.

Gordon Ramsay's New Face - Thanks Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell does not mince words, even with his buddies.  Not too many men would suggest dermal fillers to their friends, but Cowell did exactly that to celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and it was a good call according to a recent online survey conducted on Vizu's Power Polls network.  Two thirds of the respondents to the survey said the felt Gordon Ramsay looks better with the facial fillers than without them.

Hopefully Ramsay really likes his new visage because he'll have to undergo the facial filler procedure every 4-6 months from now on, if he wants to keep up his new image.  Fortunately for Cowell, he does not seem to be in need of facial fillers, unless, of course, he is already using them.
